Mosiac-Men: Thoughts on Rebirth of the Soul

Roman mosaics are both a beautiful piece of art, and a beautiful symbol. Men are not whole, but mosaics made up of the combined pieces of our forefathers. We are an amalgamation; a conglomerate of those who came before us and their deeds, and become a piece of our descendants. In creating the next step in the lineage, we continue this cycle of spiritual birth, death, and rebirth through our descendants. In each of your descendants lies a definite, traceable piece of yourself.

Spiritually, this cannot be ignored.

It is easy to suppose that only one’s genes pass through genetics, but it is not the whole truth. In genetics, you have the complete composite and picture of a person, exactly who, what, and why they are. Within each person is the genetics for their father, their mother, both sets of grandparents, so on so far. Is it impossible to suppose that their Souls, the Essence of who they are passes down similar to their genes?

Most believers on a pagan tradition would worship their ancestors and believe they are somehow “alive” or at least able to be contacted. That raises the question: why would one’s ancestors be able to be contacted from beyond the grave? I believe, it is quite simple, that as we torch-bearers of their existence, and their genetics and Souls, we have the inherent ability to call back to them. This is why one cannot really contact and establish relationships with the ancestors of another, as they are not a torch-bearer, a piece of their Mosaic. Spirits of another group are not inside you, so they cannot hear you, neither can they listen.

To get back to the passing on of Spirit, one will notice at least once in their life time they do something very similar to someone of their parentage, be it a father, mother, grand-parent. This could be analyzed as a piece of their Soul, their Spirit, that is contained in you peaking through. To put in more metaphorical terms, your Mosaic has a large shiny piece of them in it, dominating the picture.
